ntoskrnl — Another Programming Blog
Yay! I got myself a blog! I initially obtained ntoskr.nl with the intent of storing my own images and files on it, and nothing else — but seeing as the domain registrar was also offering free hosting and one-click WordPress installation, I decided to give blogging a go. But I’m getting ahead of myself, you probably have no idea who I am or what I do.
My name is Jarryd, but everyone just calls me Jadd (two D’s since nowhere allows usernames of less than four characters…) Most people who do know me, probably know me as a former moderator at OwnedCore, or have used some commercial software of mine in the past, such as WoWPlus (a hacking/scripting tool for World of Warcraft which was launched back in 2012,) or maybe something as simple as my PC Authenticator (a ready-made client that wrapped Kynox’s Battle.net 2FA library, which I released back in 2010.) There’s a more personal iteration of this on the about page, too, so I suggest you check it out.
So why am I bothering to blog now?
Well, it might seem like I’m less active these days, but the fact is I’m actually busier than ever. I’m currently on a non-stop schedule to finish a couple of “hush-hush” projects, and with more and more of my software being written out of the public’s eye, I’m finding it hard to share any original concepts or ideas. I probably don’t have any life-changing approaches to programming at this point, so this blog is largely meant to encourage and educate any fresh minds who have an interest in programming. As someone who has endured the task of learning how to code, and how to reverse-engineer pieces of code without any kind of curriculum, I realise the huge impact this kind of material has on a person in the same situation as myself when I was just beginning. With any luck, I’m hoping that newcomers who are also fascinated by the inner workings of a computer software, games, etc. may be able to learn something from me. And any other seasoned programmers reading this blog: I hope you stick around too — I promise you a few “oh, that’s cool” moments.
If you’re looking to contact me, you’ll find my Facebook and Skype (among other things) at the bottom of the page. You can also reach out by email, via the contact page, and I’ll get right back to you.
Enjoy your stay!
Jarryd.
